    How do I prevent unwanted users from signing up on the site. Most appear to be from Poland or Russia.

      Users or comments? If you have people signing on as 'subscribers' and you want it to stop...go to the WordPress dashboard, scroll down to "settings"and click the "general" tab, then scroll down to "membership" and unclick the box beside - anyone can register.
