Meeting Notes June 23, 2011

Meeting was held via Webinar administered by Evan Caulfield
In attendance Evan, Roger, Peggy, Andrew and 2 new attendees Evelyn & Ron

Evelyn Chang,, Chai-Yu Chang(540)449-2847
Ron Moorefield, (404)909-5431, (703)495-7593 Woodbridge, VA

Evan showed us the system he recently signed up for called GVO Conference, to use for presentations as online webinars. Evan pointed out various areas of the Wordpress site, login, posts vs. pages, header, footer, sidebar, editor, dashboard, comments and links. Also how to add plug-ins. Switching from the Host site through CPanel and how to add/install a website at the 'backside' of the site.

The use of Fantastico enables one to work with ease in the WP system. Be sure to keep your WP site updated. There are always updates to the system to keep it running smoothly. The path used today was "CPanel-Fantastico-Wordpress-install-then making a new page for a member (Roger).

Web Hosting usually comes with CPanel. Add media files, images, edit what you upload, rotate, crop, always hit update so you don't loose data.

If you have to leave your work you can save a draft to continue later-Pending Review. Don't publish your work until you have approved, & checked for errors.

You can change the appearance with different themes, contact forms, calendar, donate $, Pay avenues such as PayPal, plug-ins, auto-responders, etc.

Go to Evans Page to get a free course on how to create a Welcome Page (70 page document.)
