"Native Son" by Richard Wright

“ This is a very well written long novel. The biography of Richard Wright and his article about how Bigger Thomas was created helped me understand the story better. The author helped the readers have empathy for Bigger and his family. The Daltons were presented as a do-gooder family who let Bigger, his family, and many other black people live in rat infested small apartments in the ghetto. Then they would help pay for things like a ping pong table in the community center while the living conditions were awful. ”
