What type of books do you enjoy?

Fiction, only. Any book that takes me somewhere else. An eclectic taste. I've read all of Jean Auel, Jan Karon and Elmer Kelton and some of Vince Flynn...among others.

Tell us a little about yourself:

I'm 73, think I'm in my forties and sometimes act like I'm 17. Two marriages (the last one for 40 years), three kids (boy, girl, boy) and three grands (boy, boy, boy). I spend most of my days either writing fiction, working in my gardens or reading. I also spend too much of many days editing and proofing my own work.

What do you want to see happen in this book/social club?

I'd like to meet people who love to read.

What was your favorite book as a kid?

The Hardy Boys Mysteries.

Do you have a quote or motto that best descibes you and your life?

Two of them. 1. Plant a tree. Have a child. Write a book. (Jose Marti). 2. Doing what others do is expected. Doing what you have to do is required.

I read and I write. And I love wines. I've been writing for money since I learned to type in high school. Now, widowed and retired, I write to stay alive.
