While at W@M, you'll get a feel for the highly effective organization practices that they have put in place over the last twelve months -- that have directly resulted in tremendously improving their service offerings to their customers. Not once during this dialog did I feel like I was being served "the Kool-Aid." The question you then need to ask yourself is whether or not you can effectively plug yourself into their highly effective organizational structure and effectively get things done.

    •  I thought this was a great way to learn more about the company and the people - something that is rare outside the college recruiting environment. It was also nice to see that the company really follows through with its own philosophy in its service to others and within the workplace. It definitely seemed like a place that encourages self-empowerment and creativity. The office reminded me of the startup I worked at in the Bay Area after graduation - vibrant and full of energy. Even hearing about the late work hours, Rock Band, and weekend BBQs brought back memories of people sleeping under their desks, DDR during lunch break, and dinner parties with my ex-co-workers. I'm glad that I got off the wait list just in time to take advantage of this sneak peak into Meetup.
    •  It was a great opportunity to understand how the company works, how it's structured and why it's been so successful. I had a chance to meet new people and learn about some of their experiences and even talk more to them after the meeting. The only thing missing was a tour in the office. I was really looking forward to it, but due to the group size that wasn't appropriate, which is understandable.
    •  At the Working@Meetup meetup, Ms. Linda Paul, the Director of Team Development at Meetup, in an cordial and well-articulated manner, paints an excellent and detailed picture of what is like to work at Meetup headquarters. Each attendee is given the opportunity to share their thoughts on what inspired them to want to work for Meetup and what they would like to work on at Meetup. The attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
