Hi, I'm Kate. I'm finishing my thesis at Columbia University (MFA) but looking to diversify my life. I'm drawn (back) to the world of customer service because my favorite jobs have been the ones that let me make someone else's day better.
I want to join the Community team as a Community Specialist (I found the position on the Columbia Career Services job list).
My area of expertise is providing customer service that goes above and beyond client expectation. I'm drawn to Meetup because I like working with people and I like working in organizations where I can make contribute and make a difference in both the office and in the product presented to clients. Additionally, I have experience working in technical support, both resolving issues and training clients. I also have a fondness for bad jokes (Seriously. Two goldfish are chilling in a bowl, one turns to the other and says "you man the guns, I'll drive." Cracks me up every time). I'm also excited at the idea of working in an environment that balances feeling laid back with professionalism and being able to contribute to the HQ blog would be a way to actually utilize my (almost have it) degree.
I'm submitting my cover letter, resume and writing sample through the Columbia software, unless it would be more convenient to submit here? I'm flexible.
