Red Hook Ball Fields Latin Food

  • Aug 25, 2012 · 12:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Every weekend during the summer, several Latin food trucks set up next to the Red Hook ball fields and prepare inexpensive quesadillas, huaraches, tacos, pupusas, ceviche, chili-sprinkled mango, and much more. We've visited as a group four times before; hope you can join us! This is an "open" meetup, so you're welcome to come and go as you please, but please keep your RSVPs up-to-date, so I know who to look for. We're still taking a harsher stance on no-shows than in the past, so if you are a no-show, I may blacklist you from this group and other meetup groups. Dave Cook's classic Google map of the neighborhood will give you an overview.

Note: The Smith-9th Sts. subway station is closed for construction; take the F, G, or R train to 4th Av-9th St. and then take the downtown-Brooklyn-bound B61 bus to Lorraine St. & Clinton St. in Red Hook. You can also walk from 4th Av-9th St. (or Carroll St.), but that might take you a good 20 or 30 minutes depending on pace. You can also take the free Ikea ferry from Pier 11 in Manhattan. It only departs every 40 min. at this time of day though. One leaves Pier 11 at 12 noon, on the dot. The ball fields are a few blocks from Ikea.
