Dear Friends,
St Ethelburga's Centre has been a place of prayer and peace for many centuries, in 1993 the original building was destroyed by an IRA bombhttp://stethelburgas.org/our-story/destruction - St Ethelburga's was not the target. A huge effort was made to raise funds to restore it and it reopened in 2003 as the centre it is now, a centre for reconciliation and peace.http://medieval-london.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/st-ethelburga.html It is now going through another challenge, some of funding sources that kept it going over the past 10 yrs are no longer there and a number of initiates are being tried out to bring in some needed funds, one of them is this fundraising party 'The Good Party' (if successful, we'll run a series of them over next 6 months). By party we mean, dancing, hanging out and having a great time in this beautiful space. So! come on down if you can make it and let's party. We have a fantastic band to get the mood going, the West African Blues Project:http://desertrock.atwebpages.com/westafricanblues/about.htmPlus dj's
Beginning on Friday Oct 26th, This will be our first party event to support the charity ensuring the proceeds from the event go to the centre.

I really enjoyed the music. I just wished it had started at 7.30 or 8 as I and quite a few others obviously had to leave at around 11.00 to get the last train back. Would have liked to have had more time as had to miss half of the second set of music. Liked the arrangement of no chairs and having cushions and setttee much more cosy and sociable and left more space for dancing also!
