Manecas Costa & Fran Perez (Narf)Al Irmo! ( Galicia Guinea-Bissau )

Galician and African music in fraternal encounter

Al Irmao by Al Irmao

If there is a cultural exchange between borders that really works and bears fruits its the one developed between musicians from Galicia and the Portuguese-speaking countries. Manecas Costa, guitar player, singer and composer born in Guinea-Bissau is one of the most active in these musical excursions to the Iberian Peninsulas northwest, having collaborated in the recording of a CD by Uxa Senlle and nurturing a project Humor Neghro with the Galician actor Carlos Blanco. Now, he goes on stage with one more Galician great, Fran Prez (Narf), an open-minded singer / songwriter that has already worked with musicians from another lusophone country, Mozambique . In the show they put together Al Irmo! (Hello Brother!) their voices and their acoustic and electric guitars use each others repertoire and original songs to sow an aesthetical ground where Galicia, Portugal and Guin-Bissau communicate with the intimacy of what they are, brother countries.
