Learn how to construct the most advanced sustainable building available today!

The Living Building Challenge has been described as "...the most advanced measurement of sustainability in the built environment possible today."
Gaddy House, about to begin construction, is seeking a “grand slam” of sustainability. This 2,000 square foot house in Clarksville, Maryland, is seeking a LEED Homes Platinum rating under the LEED v4 Pilot, a Passive House certification and a Living Building Challenge certification. In addition to the difficulties inherent in each of the certifications, some of the demands of each of the systems conflict with the requirements of others.
This presentation will focus on the Living Building Challenge, what it is and how the design of this house aligns with the various requirements of the Challenge. Many lessons can be expanded to address similar project goals for larger buildings. Come and learn about the Living Building Challenge and how one project is seeking to achieve this coveted rating.
