Announcing a new Meetup for CarbonfreeDC: Climate Change, Clean Energy & Sustainability!

What: CarbonfreeDC Social Hour + tour of "Oil" photo exhibit

When: November 19,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Corcoran Gallery Of Art Cafe

Join CarbonfreeDC members at the Corcoran Museum Cafe to socialize and connect, and to celebrate our volunteers that made the Extreme Green Neighborhood Makeover a great success! This unstructured social event is a great opportunity to meet other CarbonfreeDC members who are passionate about the environment, climate change, renewable energy or green living. Raffle tickets for a CarbonfreeDC t-shirt will be given to any and all that come!

Then at 7:30 PM CarbonfreeDC members are invited to a special, guided tour of the Corcoran Museum's new "Oil" photo exhibit. Here, celebrated Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky highlights the effects of oil on our lives, depicting landscapes altered by its extraction from the earth and by the cities and suburban sprawl generated around its use. He also addresses the coming "end of oil," as we confront its rising cost and dwindling availability. Admission to the exhibit is $10, $8 for students.
