We have teamed up with Straight Up Praise and San Diego Bible Church to offer special jam nights in San Diego!!! This will follow their Saturday evening service. They meet in Wyle Chapel on the campus of Torrey Pines Christian Church.
This FIRST one, will be a rotation of musicians and leaders. We will have a house band and a list of songs (and chord sheets). We will rotate musicians and leaders as the night goes on. I will post the song list, and those who want to lead songs can sign up and choose songs, or provide sheets if they have other songs not on list. There will also be time for open mic either solo or with backing musicians. THIS IS A TRIAL RUN WITH THIS FORMAT!!!
All levels of musicians are invited to join, from professionals to motivated beginners. Guitarists, vocalists, bass, keyboards, drummers and other instruments are welcome!
David Dykstra will be hosting this event. The church has a complete back line, (Drums, Bass Amp, Keyboard, and P.A. with monitors). “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Col 3:16)
Our worship nights are friendly and fun. There are lots of options, you can:
1. Lead the band for a few songs.
2. Play in a band
3. Perform open mic (either solo or with band to back you up)
4. Sing along from the audience
Everyone gets a chance to play! Sometimes up to four songs. However, on busier nights, you may be asked to limit the number of songs to two. We all cooperate and make adjustments on the spot, depending on how many people show up. The goal is (of course) to be fair to everyone.
