Need Accountability AND Want to Earn Cash for Losing Weight?

  • June 23, 2014 · 5:00 AM

So, it occurred to me that we are approximately 6 months away from the end of 2014! Can you believe it?! Where does the time go? How many of you made a resolution to lose weight or just lead a healthier lifestyle in 2014?

In case you need the extra push to make your goals for the year, I’ve decided to host a 6-Week Weight Loss Challenge! However, this challenge is a little different than what you have probably seen before. It encourages healthy choices and weight loss with a point system. Not only will you be awarded points for weight loss, you will be earning points for making positive lifestyle choices such as choosing the right foods, drinking water, exercising and etc. Some weeks I will even add in extra credit work for you to receive additional points.

If you are interested in competing in this challenge, click on the link below to find out how this challenge works!

I hope everyone's had a good week so far! I've been sick which made it easy to meet my calorie intake however, I haven't been great at working out. ;( I will make up for it over the weekend. Can't wait to see your results on Monday!

You aren't alone. I have had bronchitis and a sinus infection so I haven't been able to exercise all week. Hope you feel better soon and that next week will be better!

Awesome! Fast food is sometimes hard to pass up. Way to stay strong and take control like that!

A co worker of mine brought in a cake today and i cracked. No more sweets for me the rest of this week.

Moderation is key. Eat one piece then get back on track. You can't expect not to indulge every once in a while. ;)

Hope you all are doing well. Lets make it to 60lbs!

So frustrating when the scale won't move.Trying to be patient. :) Have a great day!

    1 · July 3

    • Callie L.

yes, be patient. The scale isn't everything. How you feel and how your clothes fit is another great indicator.

Yea, I started noticing that I have more energy than I did a few weeks ago.

I cracked a little today (too embarrassed to say what bad stuff I ate). Still exercised, though, and am determined not to lose the momentum I've gained from a mild setback...as opposed to past times when I would just give up since I "messed up" one day.

Thank you for the encouragement ladies!

      1 · July 4

    • Callie L.

That is so true about just because you messed up at one meal or one day doesn't mean you have to quit. Just pick back up at your next meal. That was the first thing I learned when I started losing weight. You all are doing great and way to go on keeping up the momentum!

I did yard work today for 4 hours this morning. I hope that counts as my exercise for today!!!

Having such a hard time getting started exercising! I have MaxT3 and yoga tapes, both of which I enjoy doing, but just.can't.make.myself.do.it! Ugh!

    June 26

    • Callie L.

Boy do I know that feeling!! When that happens start off small. Go for a walk or the next time you walk by the kitchen stop and do 3 sets/15 reps of counter push-ups while doing a 30 second jog in between each set. Then do 3 sets/15 reps of plié using the counter while doing 30 second jogs in between sets. Next time you go to the bathroom stop at the counter and do the same but add in 3 sets/15 reps of standing donkey kicks and standing knee to elbow. -Workouts don't have to be done all at once. It's all cumulative. By the end of the day you probably would have completed 30 minutes!

Thank you, thank you! I just had it in my head that I HAD to do a video workout, so this helped me think outside the box. And it helped me actually DO something...starting small like you suggested. I did some counter push-ups, high knee leg lifts, and squats throughout the day today. Feels so good to have actually done something, even though it's small, but I know it's just the beginning! Thanks for your tips and encouragement!

I can't get 64 ounces of water in my body. Something so simple but so hard!!!!

    June 26

    • Callie L.

LOL! Set a timer on your phone. Every time it goes off down 8-16 ounces. Every time you eat, down 8 ounces before and 8 ounces after. Keep 8 ounces by your bed at night and down it when you first wake up. Just down it and pretend it's wine! ;)

      1 · June 26

    • Dede A.

Yea, it was hard for me too. I have a water bottle that is about 24 Oz, so i just fill it up 3 times and it makes it easier. The hard part is waking up multiple times at night to use the bathroom. Lol

      June 26

  • Dede A.

After drinking 64+ Oz of water a day, I feel bloated and it makes it hard to exercise at night.

    June 25

    • Callie L.

If your body is not used to that much water it will retain it specially if you eat high sodium foods. I know this sounds crazy but try to drink more so your body will start releasing it. Typically, it's recommended to drink half your body weight in ounces. Also, as you workout, you will sweat a lot of it out as well. Hang in there, it will get better! Great job getting your 64 oz in!!

      June 25

  • Erin

Hope it's getting easier for everyone. Today is definitely better than day 1.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
