Book and Film Discussion: Life of Pi

Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 2002, and the movie adaptation by Ang Lee has earned eleven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Visual Effects, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

It's an exceptional book and a wonderful film, that I hope many of you will enjoy discussing at our first meeting.

The paperback book is available at www.amazon.co.uk/dp/[masked], and of course, all your local book stores.

    Fiona,

Kirstie will doubtless confirm but I think Cloud Atlas was chosen! Hope so as sounds good and am going to get hold of a copy when in town today -unless anyone has a spare!

How do folk feel about an 7:30pm start? Is that too late? Too early? I wanted to make sure that folk coming from work have time to get there, and that we aren't going to bed too late.

The Old Spring pub serves food and you're welcome to grab some dinner while we chat, but you aren't required to eat!
