Meetup 98

Hi guys,

Mid-week is again upon us, and it's time for another Write Club event notice. Last Saturday Satpal presided over a very interesting session where he found an innovative method to drill home the importance of character, setting, plot and theme, and how to merge them together to have fun while writing fiction. The results were quite enjoyable, with the stand-out piece being Adi's narrative of how Rajnikanth united with his long-last twin brother. Rahul's scene based on the Tintin universe was nice too, and so was Shreyasi's story of Mulan at the Himalayas.

Speaking of Shreyasi, she's going to host this week. If memory serves me right she has hosted a couple of times before, and both times her sessions garnered positive reviews from people who attended. She's been one of our most regular and enthusiastic members in recent times, and I am sure when you come this Saturday you will see that reflected in whatever she has in store for us.

Now, a warm welcome to all first-timers, as usual. If you have some time to kill this Saturday afternoon, there is no better place to do it in than at Salmon Leap on MG Road. You will meet a bunch of people that may be a little nerdy to look at but are really cool on the inside.

Directions to the place are given above, just under the header. If you still get lost,[masked] is the number to call and Sharath is the guy to ask for.

Hey one of the sessions a couple of weeks ago (the one where we had the "Angel and Devil over the shoulder" exercise, somebody had written a piece- which went like "they lived in a near perfect world, travelling in near perfect trains..." He said it was based on a story he had read. Does anybody remember what story it was exactly?

I remember it was something about a cathedral in the centre of the city...somebody in chains within the cathedral and being beaten...

Been searching for it..cant get it outta my head...Kindly help!!!

I am sorry I missed Satpal's session, more so after reading the notes above. Could we please have another session by him soon?

Inquisitiveness and enthusiasm. A pen and paper helps. or you can use your smart phone to key in your piece of writing too.

If I did not attend WC it is because it is not an alternative to killing time. It is a very purpose filled activity to learn, to laugh or to lead surrounded by bright peers. No it often takes priority. Sadly, there is a conflict of timing so I decline.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
