Meetup Number 20

This location is shown only to members

Hi!

So we are finally out of our teens with the actual twentieth meetup to be held on Feb 4th.

You know the drill. Come over to Vijay's office by 2 30 and we'll have 2-3 hours of writing and go back to our boring lives :)

I am hosting the meetup this time. So let's see how it goes.

Get your writing gear and lets get cracking.

Have a great week until then.

I have never heard of this place. Also, i am directionally challenged. Any landmarks?

@Mousumee: Under Trinity Metro Station. Behind Oriental Bank of Commerce. These are the landmarks that worked for me.

Pavithra, maybe you can post your number to all the first-timers so that they have someone to call if they get lost?

First of all congratulations to all of us on the huge turn out. After a long time, the conference room was full. I loved the enthusiasm and the exercise in creativity as the group came up with really good ideas and pieces on the topics. And Veena, I vote for more movie screenings at our club. And Vijay's presence after a long time brought a lot of life into the environment. Lets all keep this up!

I haven't felt inclined towards writing lately, but this is such a good group of people that I came for the company and to hear others' inspired pieces. Thanks for a wonderful session, Pavithra! I'm sorry I was late because I think every minute was perfectly planned:) Plus, I think it was a momentous occasion when we all watched Fight Club at Write Club. This should be some kind of tradition.

The first exercise was really tough, I was blank for half an hour! And I want to watch Fight Club NOW!!

Great. Loved the pourquoi story exercise. More importantly, loved the group that turned up. So we did have smashing meet after all. And Vijay, do stay with us. Really. I'm loving all the dark stuff people are coming up with. :-)

Returned to the write club after a gap. Quite a gap, in fact. The bright new members in big numbers, the brightening flair of the practicing ones brought home that I have missed learning a lot. Need to practice. Be inspired by this bundle of creative energy. Periodically. unfailingly. Still in the meetup shifted my travel to Mumbai to Sunday next week. Have secured the Saturday for the meetup. Pavi, power pack quietly proved that she indeed is a rock star. The suave, short briefing, the video, the sample story all showed that rock stars do a lot of home work. The porquoi sprang through many. It sowed how the practicing ones are blossoming. The next one scared scared me with the blast of its power and intensity. So women too fight, in physical terms is a revelation. Their action as written by the lady members has equal but scorching but cold violence. Like being scalded by steam. Pavi (see I did not address you as, Aunty) lets capture these write ups.

    P. made me proud to be a Mallu today - one who DOES NOT bear any illicit affections towards Brad Pitt. Do I dare imagine life & enthusiasm leaking back into the meet-up due to Vijay's return?

My first five star. I loved it.
