It's our Four Year Anniversary Celebration!!!

Hey there, Writers, Dancers and Dreamers!

Time flies when we're having fun!  This will be our four year anniversary (we were founded on November 11th, 2008). Can you believe it?

I want to thank all of you, our members, for all of your participation! Without all of us, this could not happen!  What is so great about this group is, even if there is occasionally a gap of a couple of months between meetups, everyone keeps participating and always rises to the occasion to make this the best group ever!

(This is Brian writing now): As the founder of the group, it really means a lot to me that so many of you have appreciated the vision and mission of the group, to empower and enable us to thrive and prosper as writers, and to make a difference in this world we're living in -- to impact the world!

I especially want to thank Sarah Curcio! She's been involved in the group for quite some time now and has been instrumental in keeping our mojo flowing as the Assistant Organizer.  I got married just over a month ago (yay me!), and without Sarah to take over for awhile as Organizer, I don't know that I'd be able to keep the group going.  So, if you're enjoying the group and what we're up to in the world, please take a moment and make sure to thank Sarah.  Thanks, Sarah!  :)

By the way, while we have your attention, we'd love to know what you think! How is the group going for you?  Over the span of a few years, the groups’ direction has gone from group conversations and discussions, to workshops, to some free style meetings, to critiquing.  We've done plenty of in-person meetups, we've flirted with social media, and we've even done writing themed webinars!

Our mission is to "write to impact the world."  What does that mean to you?  What would you like to see the group do next?  What is our next step?

Last year, on our anniversary, we created the Facebook group.  So, who knows, there might even be some surprises this time!!  Hope to see you all there.

If you're not already part of the Facebook Group, get connected to us there, too (copy the link into your internet browser's address bar, if it's not a clickable link): https://www.facebook.com/groups/writersimpactingtheworld

We look forward to reconnecting -- it's been a wild ride over the last few months (Brian again), getting married and going on the honeymoon!  We look forward to what's next and can't wait to reconnect with you!

Please let us know how we can help you in your personal writing journey!  We're here to serve you.

Hey, gang! I can't wait to see you tonight! Just a head's up -- I will have a handy Meetup sign so you know who we are, if you've never joined us or in case it's been awhile! Starbucks has let us know that we're welcome, they just can't save tables for us, so I'll be showing up early to stake out a spot... In case you need directions or anything, please feel free to text or call me at[masked]-0143. I'm looking forward to our meetup! See you tonight! :)

Hahaha! I won't have my beautiful bride with me, so you'll have to adjust to my awesome profile picture as opposed to what I look like in living color! :)

I think I mixed that up, my inner grammarian is screaming inside of me... I think you'll have to adjust to what I look like in the flesh, as opposed to my awesome, post-wedding profile picture :)

I started with pen to paper. I'm conservatively guessing my word count, and will get to typing it up soon.

Let's get this party started here online! To celebrate our four years of existing, please tell us about your experiences with the group. Favorite moment or meetup? Anything about what you'd like to see going forward? I can say that it was a ton of fun to create the Facebook group at last year's anniversary meetup. It was unplanned and an unscripted idea that we thought of in the moment, but a few of our members really took it upon themselves to keep the group going and post interesting links and ideas! If you're not already connected to us on Facebook, the link is above! Hope to see you online, or in person, or both!!

Im sorry i never made it to a meeting! My life has had drastic changes. I have moved to the Chicago area and started my own business! So i will be leaving the group. Guess i will have to find a group out here. :)

Rats, we're sorry we never got to meet you, too! Just a note for anyone who is connected to the group who might be in the same boat -- just because you move out of town doesn't mean you have to disconnect from the group! We love to keep in touch via webinars and teleconferences on occasion between in-person meetups, and we'd always love to keep you as a part of our extended network! Thanks to everyone who participates and to those we haven't met yet, we are looking forward to it!

By the way, does anyone or will anyone be celebrating November as National Novel Writing Month? It is a coincidence that our anniversary happens to be in November, but how cool would it be for a group of us to celebrate together and spend thirty days and nights of literary abandon! If you're unfamiliar with this, check it out here (please copy the links into your browser if they are not clickable): http://www.nanowrimo.org/ Every year since I first learned about this, I go, "Oh, that would be cool to do" but I never do it! Not so, this year! Why don't you consider joining me? The fun begins in just five days (November 1st)! I just signed up for free and created my profile, so connect with me here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/captkeating I'm looking forward to taking this journey with you!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
