Reading and critiquing

Dear ones,

Thanks for signing up for the "Reading and critiquing" meetup. The size of attendance is intentionally kept small to give everybody sufficient time to read and be heard.

Since we have 8 people signing up, we'll break into two subgroups. Everyone has a total of 30 mins to read your work and get comments from the rest 3 people in the group. So the meeting will run for about 2 hrs.

I will prepare water, soft drink, and tea. If you have snacks or drinks to share, bring it on!

We have a long wait list. So if you cannot make it, please do cancel online so that other people can join.

So looking forward to seeing you!

xoxo,

Natasha

Is there a word/page limit? I don't think I'm in danger of going over but I'm just curious.

Tyler, there's not word limit. But you've only got 30 mins to read and get comments. So obviously if you read longer, there'll be less time to get feedback. I'd say limit it to max 1500 words.

I really like the format of this MeetUp. It appears to be a great way to develop a network as well as the constructive criticism, but I see a set back. If we don't step forward, it appears the first people to login will be the only people to participate.

Having said that, I'd like to step forward and open my house to 3 people at first, then perhaps increase it when I get some experience. But I can't find the link to set up the MeetUp.

    Natasha, can you help me?

Neal, looks like you figured out the set up yourself! Thank you so much for offering another venue for meetings! The more the merrier!

Mandy, the meeting size is small because I want everybody to have sufficient opportunity to be heard. Hope you and Ryan will join us in the future!

Russell, the meet up size is kept small to give every participant sufficient chance to read and get comments. But we're still experimenting. Would be great to have you in the future!
