2 hours writing in Camden Town

Two hours writing at the comfortable and cosy Yumchaa in Camden Town, in the evening.

The regular host of Camden Town meetups has stepped down after completing his book, and I have a screenplay (or three) I need to complete, so I'm going to try to pick up the baton.

At the Camden Town sessions, we usually spend about two hours writing at Yumchaa (it closes at 8pm), and afterwards head to a music-free pub down the road for a drink and a chat.

Yumchaa is a popular venue – especially with laptop users – so finding table space can be tough. However, if at least 6 people sign up to an event, I might be able to reserve an area for us to use.

UPDATE: Yumchaa have agreed to reserve a space for at least 7 people tomorrow evening. We'll be at the back of the branch.

I hope all those who made the Meetup had a productive writing session and enjoyed the drinks. Thanks to Alice for the suggested change of venue.

Yumchaa's staff didn't get told about the reservation. But we now have two tables in the back, with seating for 8.

Oh, just saw - 11 attending, only space for 7. I won't come then. Enjoy!

There probably will be seating available, but some may have to scatter about the cafe.
I have asked Yumchaa to sort out more seating, but haven't heard back. I'll see if I can phone the branch in the morning to get it sorted out.

How many of us are confirmed? Will space for 7 be enough? It's quite a long way for me, so if I'm not guaranteed a space there's no point me coming. Need to know before I leave for work in the morning as I can't check personal emails at work and I'll be leaving straight from there.

Yumchaa emailed me to say there will be reserved seating for 7. I've asked them for extra places for everyone else, but they haven't responded.

Just moved to London, this looks like just the kinda thing I need. Hopefully see some of you there!

Given the numbers, I've contacted Yumchaa and asked to reserve some big tables near power sockets, for those with laptops. I haven't had a response yet, so we may end up scattered about. But please do stop by and say hello. I'll have a Meetup sign on the desk where I'm sat.

Ah forgot I have a life drawing meet up tomorrow which clashes with this event. I'll be sure to be at the next one!

Welcome. I'm sure the peer pressure will help you write. If not, a drink and chat afterwards may.

The after-writing pub is usually the Cobden Arms (http://bit.ly/13Q91PC). It's not a short walk from Yumchaa, but the pub is quiet so people can talk to each other, the service is excellent, and there is very good Thai food on offer for those who'd like after-writing food.
