2h writing in Camden Town + social

Two hours writing at the comfortable and cosy Yumchaa in Camden Town, in the evening.

At the Camden Town sessions, we usually spend about two hours writing at Yumchaa (it closes at 8pm), and afterwards head to a nearby pub for a drink and a chat.

Yumchaa is a popular venue – especially with laptop users – so finding table space can be tough. However, I've reserved tables and seating for 4 people each week.

You are welcome to attend if 5 or more people sign up, but you may not be able to sit with everyone else.

UPDATE 1: Recently the number of people attending this Meetup has shot up – 12 to 20 'yes' RSVPs aren't uncommon. Due to this, the number of attendees who can RSVP yes is now limited. If the RSVP slots are filled, you may join the waiting list. Also you're welcome to come down, but you will have to find your own seating.

If you cannot make the Meetup, please ensure you change your RSVP.

UPDATE 2: After discussing the mix-ups with bookings with Yumchaa's head office, we've agreed to change the timing of these Meetups. They'll now start at 5.30pm, finishing at 7.30pm. This is so we can sit and work, without Yumchaa staff telling us to move seats so they can clear up. If you can't make it for 5.30pm, you're welcome to come along later.

IMPORTANT! Finding Yumchaa

Yumchaa is located on Parkway, in Camden town, in the old Palmers' Pet Store building. There is no sign outside Yumchaa's storefront, because the building is protected by a preservation order.

If you're coming in from the Camden Town tube station, head up Parkway, past the Odeon and Jazz Cafe. Yumchaa will be on the left after you cross the road, opposite Jamon Jamon and Runner's Need.

Keep an eye out for the high-tech Meetup sign. I will be sat at the same table. If you are attending this Meetup for the first time, please stop by so we can say hello.

Our reserved table is at the back, in front of the sofa. There are plenty of available seats elsewhere though. If you are new to this meetup, please stop by and say hello. Thanks.

On the following Monday from this meetup, I will be starting a new job. The commute and hours means that I will be no longer able to host this Write Together Meetup.

I will look for an alternative venue for a weekend meetup, but if you would like to host the Thursday meetings from now on, please drop me a line.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
