A first novel - which, at the rate I am going, I think will be just about finished when I'm dead !
Stupid, so stupid- With a sickening lurch, the tires clawed wet asphalt but found nothing to hold them. In terror she again slammed her foot down, engine roaring as her foot nicked the accelerator before finding the brake. Jesus, jesus, jesus, she screamed as the car shuddered, then skidded relentlessly forward. The stationary Volkswagen loomed impossibly large and in those last few moments she glimpsed the other driver staring at her, his face a study in terror. Body rigid, she pressed down with the last of her strength inwardly knowing there could be no stopping this. The last thing she heard was a terrific bang and with it a sharp pain as her nose broke on the wheel. For a few moments until darkness claimed her she felt small fragments of windscreen patting her cheeks like dry rain and then even this sensation vanished. Unnoticed, her phone fell from limp fingers, the caller still shouting her name.
This looks like fun. I like creative writing and am trying to squeeze it in whenever I can.
