Writer’s Coffee Talk Pages

Greetings to you.

We invite you personally to allow yourself joy.
Quiet your racing mind and spend a brief hour
out of your busy schedule to commune with
your jovial literary community.

People, we have a very rare opportunity to congregate
with talented individuals of similar interests.
We assemble here every Tuesday morning
to learn, network and edify one another.

So, embrace the free-flowing exchange of experiences,
ideas, and information.

Hope to see you there!

New Announcement: The owner of the Out on the Limb Gallery in downtown Eugene at the intersection of Pearl and Broadway has once again opened his gallery for members of our writers' group to read aloud snippets of their works to family and friends. Sitting space is limited. So far we have a list of about ten folks interested in reading. Non-readers are encouraged to attend. There is room for a few more readers. At this point we will try to limit readings to about ten minutes per person. If interested and not already signed up, please email me, Larry Leverone, at oregonvermont@gmail.com

The event will be held WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 18th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Tuesday, February 10th, 9 am
HONORARY GUEST SPEAKER:
Distinguished Children's Author and Presenter, Robert Young

The Best Things I’ve Learned

Do anything for thirty years and you’re bound to learn something you can share with others. Join Robert Young, author of twenty-six books for children as he shares insights, tips, and experiences from the wonderful world of writing and publishing

Robert’s books, mainly faction (nonfiction) reflect his many interests and curiosities, including history, collecting, baseball, and chewing gum. His books have earned numerous awards and honors, including Parent’s Choice, Notable Trade Books, and Children’s Choice.
Robert’s latest book, Chomp! A Chewer’s Guide to Gum is an updated version of The Chewing Gum Book, published in 1989 and the first book on the topic for children. Moving Targets, a middle-grade novel, focuses on the timely topic of bullying. The Magic of A.C. Gilbert spotlights the Oregonian who became America’s most notable toymaker.
When not writing, Robert enjoys working in schools as a writing consultant and visiting author. Originally from the east coast, Robert now lives in the southern Willamette Valley, near the hawks, trails, and water he loves.
