January Meeting - The Art of StoryTelling / Hosts for next 3 months

To start the new year we'll have a discussion on the art of storytelling. This will be an open discussion on tips, techniques, experiences, and thoughts on what makes a good story. We'll use the two resources already in our meetup discussion board on resources as a starting point:

http://www.ted.com/talks/andrew_stanton_the_clues_to_a_great_story.html

http://io9.com/5916970/the-22-rules-of-storytelling-according-to-Pixar

If you have other resources for people to look at, please post them into the discussion board.

Dreamweaver has volunteered to host this meeting and the last 15 minutes of the meeting will be to get a volunteer host (and possible topics) for each of the next three (Feb/Mar/Apr) meetings.

See you there.

I wish I could have made it! I ended up having to go home instead.

And here is the link to that "short short" story competition for the 3-day writers workshop in Boulder, March 14-16:
    https://wxw.submittable.com/submit/23558
Word limit is 250 words, your submission can be fiction, nonfiction, or memoir, and you have to mention either a Volkswagen beetle, an actual beetle, or the Beatles. Three winners will be chosen. Winners receive free tuition to the workshop, but must pay for their own room and board. The three instructors present will be Pam Houston, BK Loren, and Benjamin Percy. Looks like a fantastic opportunity! :D
