Established in 2003, LA Writers Group runs writers groups and creative writing workshops throughout Los Angeles: West Hollywood, Glassell Park (Glendale), LA South Bay (Hermosa Beach, El Segundo), West LA, and Santa Clarita. Visit our official website at http:/www.lawritersgroup.com.

In this meetup group, we will host free monthly accountability meetings, free friendship events (not networking but meeting new friends), and soon an ongoing Saturday morning writing workshop for a nominal fee.  Our 8-week writers groups will be announced here too, but you sign up and pay for them on our official website.

The free monthly accountability meetings are for writers who are serious about completing a project and want help with goal-setting and work better in an environment where they feel accountable.  If you get stuck, we will help you figure out why and help you move past that block.  If you accomplish your goals, we will congratulate you and egg you on to keep going!  You will also have the opportunity to train and host your own monthly accountability meetings.

Our original 8-week creative writing workshops are not lectures, they are hands-on workshops with creative writing prompts and the opportunity to bring your creative writing projects in for constructive, positive, and helpful critique from your fellow group members and an experienced group leader.

We welcome writers of all levels, genres, and ages (adults, please) to our meetings.

We also run a meetup called the Writing Craft Book Club where we read books about the writing craft, and we will soon integrate that meetup with this one.
