YYC Ruby Message Board › Post-Workshop
Thank you for attending the workshop. I really enjoyed being part of the crowd.
I'd specially like to thank Intellog (Terence Gannon) for the lunch and their effort; The University of Calgary (Prof. Frank Maurer, Dr. Ayman Issa) for the venue and time and Luu Duong for initiating the coordination.
It was a great workshop (at least as I see from this side). Although it barely scratched the surface of the technology, I think it helped ignite the interest in some and further it in others.
Beyond the workshop, we've had a wealth of side discussions from all attendees. We've talked about architecture, testing, best-practices and business ideas.
This is part of a true Ruby/Rails community where it's not only about the technology, but also about the business of software. I think we are onto something.
If you haven't done so, please join the linked-in CRUSERS group (http://www.linkedin.c.... There we can discuss all things Ruby/Rails/Software with a hint of Calgary.
I'm in particularly interested in ways to promote the technology for both individuals and businesses.
The workshop curriculum can be found at http://calgaryrails.h... and the source at https://github.com/no...
Also check out the images posted to the Meetup group.
I hope we could continue on with this intro workshop to always welcome newcomers, as well as prepare for some advanced topics too for those who're interested.
Thank you again and good luck.
