Oktoberfest 5K Volunteering

Please note this post is for volunteering and there will be a separate post for anyone that will be running in the race.

Wipe Out Kids' Cancer is looking for volunteers to help with the 28th annual Tom Thumb WOKC Oktoberfest Run for the Children on Saturday, September 21, 2013.  This event is part of the Addison Oktoberfest celebration and is a family-friendly event with around 3,000 participants each year.  All proceeds from this event benefit Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer (WOKC), a Dallas based non-profit with the vision of a day when all children are living cancer-free.  Volunteers will receive a free breakfast, event t-shirt and free admission to Addison Oktoberfest on race day.

When signing up you will be asked for your e-mail address (they will use this to send your volunteer assignments), Time Slot, and First & Last Name.  Time Slots and potential positions are listed below.

7AM - 10AM:  Race Course Monitors, Race Course Water Station, Finish Line Water Station

7AM - 11:30AM:  Finish Line Celebration in food tent (people serving beer have to be 21 & over)

6AM - 9AM:  Registration and packet pick-up

I don't remember if I've already received my volunteer assignment. Is there a way someone can resend or do we know when they will be sent out? Also, is there an external site that I can refer other friends to that want to volunteer? Thanks!

Diane said she sent the job descriptions out on Tuesday. Can you verify that you got an e-mail from her?

You should get an e-mail notification sometime this week. I'll follow up tomorrow afternoon with my contact. Last year not all of the e-mail notification were sent out on time, but volunteers had positions when they arrived at the site. I'll let you guys know once I get more feedback.
