The Yes We Can democratic club is an affinity club, which means we have members all over Los Angeles, including but not limited to: Long Beach (most of our events are held in Long Beach), Venice, Gardena, Monrovia and beyond!

We have high hopes for 2009 and what we can accomplish within our respective communities and we want you to be a part of it!

Are you interested in planting trees in your neighborhood? collecting food for your local food bank? graffiti abatement? mural painting?

As example...Saturday, March 28, 12 dem club members carpooled to three different locations and harvested fruit from local homeowners. 1400 lbs. of fruit was collected, sorted, cleaned and then donated to Food Finders of Long Beach (the project was organized in collaboration with SoCal Harvest). The fruit was enjoyed by those who have been hit by the recent changes in the economy...

Club members and friends have also twice boarded the Long Beach transit system (yes, the bus!), and armed with brooms, dust pans, rubber gloves and trash bags - gave our attention to every bus stop that needed a little TLC ... sweeping and picking up trash and leaving Long Beach a little bit cleaner ~
