I am originally from upstate New York, but spent the past 8 years in Vermont. I have studied many kinds of meditation, and have been practicing yoga since I was a child. My mother is a Kripalu-Certified yoga teacher, and I grew up attending retreats with her at the Kripalu center in Lenox, MA. Although I love me a good bikram class, yoga for me is about releasing, relaxing, rejuvenating, and becoming more balanced mentally and physically. The only reason I haven't done more of it in a group setting is because classes here are too expensive, and I cannot afford to take them consistently. I am desperate to do consistent movement that takes the pain out of my body, and the stress out of my mind.

I was a ballet dancer for 18 years and have taught dance classes. I know yoga well, but have not been certified. I would be confident in leading a basic silent meditation.
My name is Frieda and I moved the area last September. It has been a whirlwind of a year, and I feel like I am still new to the city. I work on the Hill and am in desperate need of fun that does NOT involve Hill politics. Free exercise? I am down!
