This is a group for anyone interested in yoga, either a beginner or someone who has been practicing for awhile. These yoga classes are offered from a gentle, therapeutic, and meditative approach. Exploration of movement and your inner self is explored. Breathwork and meditation are included within each class offering.
Classes can range from restorative to utilizing the breath to flowing in/out of movement or holding a pose to explore sensations, emotions, etc. with the breath. It's not about what you look like in the pose (form); it's about what you learn from it (function).
All abilities, sizes, and shapes (including beginners), are welcome to attend. Doesn't matter where you come from, we're all the same. Also, all props are provided.
So don't worry about if you're not flexible enough for yoga. Yoga is a practice for you to open up (however that may look for you).
Classes will be held at my office space. Yoga and meditation classes are $5. Class cards are also available (get 5 classes for the cost of 4 [$20], no expiration date). Classes are priced this way to accommodate to your budget and at a fraction of the cost that local yoga studios offer. Also, any class card you purchase can go towards any yoga class.
If you are someone with disability (i.e. cancer, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, lupus, etc.) or pregnant (prenatal or post-natal) and wish to participate in classes, please contact me to discuss further.
If you are ready to try a class, please feel free to fill out the Online Yoga/Meditation Form. Signing up for a class is easy through the Meetup group site. You must sign-up for a class, in order to secure your spot (no drop-ins due to size of space).
So come enjoy yourself, fellowship with others, and practice care towards yourself. It's all about community and care here.
My goal is to make yoga/meditation should be affordable and accessible to everyone who is interested in learning the practice. I know how much it has helped me in my life, including in my journey of being with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Adults (age 18 and up) are welcome to attend.
This is real yoga for real people.
