Thanks for putting this ride together. Really nice loops. The coffee, doughnuts and other goodies was the bomb. Thanks again!

I believe we had about 16 attendees today. Weather was much nicer than expected.

Ready to ride? I will bring coffee. How many doughnuts required? We should plan a Tuesday ride.

When/where would the Tues. ride be and how far?

So sorry I can't make it. I'm fine w/ cooler weather but am a little behind on prep for the York St. Pat's Day parade this coming Saturday. Hope to see some of you there! We'll have extra helmet decorations-just wear green!
Looking forward to riding March 23rd...

Since this ride seems to have dual identities: We ride DST this Sunday as planned for the cold tolerant riders. Then on Sunday the 23rd (It will be Spring!) we can have the Doughnut Ride for the warmer weather riders. Sound good?

I am confused by the comments here - is tomorrow's (3/9) ride going to be all level (bring the whole family) riders as well as the one you are planning for the 23rd? I have to work on the 23rd so I wouldn't be able to make that one... I haven't dusted off the bike yet, nor have I put the bike rack on my car... therefore my legs may not be ready for strenuous hills! What is the real deal for tomorrow? the 6 miler or the 3.5 miler?

    March 8, 2014

    • Andy W.

Peg. You may do whatever loop or loops you're comfortable with- there are a few options-it's a great way to get out first time in the season.

Forecast: Partly cloudy and 50 degrees Saturday and Monday, but only 41 Sunday. Similar forecast for the following Sunday. We could hope the better weather shifts to this Sunday. Go for it this Sunday?

    March 6, 2014

    • Kim

I'm fine with the lower 40's. Hopefully the wind won't be bad. Sometimes it dies down by afternoon.

Ted, is the scenic 6 mile loop less hilly than the shorter ride?

    March 4, 2014

      (praying he says yes...)

Looks like Apple maps shows correct location for John O Keefe Park. Google maps shows a spot a few miles west

    John O Keefe Park

Please note the address for John Keefe park does not come up in maps. Rather 1 Windy hill drive comes up. Go east from pin drop cross 83. John Keefe Park on left

7 years ago I established this event so that those of all bicycling abilities, and want-a-Be's, could socialize and celebrate the beginning of daylight saving time. There is a fun roller-coaster like 3.5 mile loop as well as a scenic 6 mile loop.

I think I have the map fixed now.

    January 17, 2014

  • Andy H.

No, the map is a little bit off. The park is just north of there, about 1/4 on the left side of the road after you pass Whitcraft Rd on the right. I'll see if I can fix the map. Thanks, Andy
