Friday GlenRita "B" Ride; Moderately Hilly, 15-16 MPH Pace

"B" level ride. Start your weekend off right!! Arrive by 5:15 or as early as you need to in order to be ready to ride by 5:30 PM. Expect this ride to be on the hillier side of what the county offers, but low traffic. We'll do approximately 25 miles at a 15-16 MPH pace. Optional recovery session and story-swapping at Mignano's after the ride. BYORB (Bring Your Own Recovery Beverage) optional but recommended!

If you are unsure what a B ride is, read the descriptions here:  http://www.meetup.com/York-Bicycling/pages/Ride_Descriptions/.  Let me know if you have questions.

RECAP!!! The B ride was a "fast" route (by Glen Rock standards) and not too hilly. Seven riders... Tim Groth , Tom Starr, Stan Escher, Deacon Andy, Gary Watson, Eric Russell, and myself. I looked around at the group assembled and my hopes for a recovery ride went out the window. To keep out of the hills went through New Freedom and around Shrewsbury (a pretty slick route even if I do say so myself) and then mostly downhill to Glen Rock. The ride finished up with a Glory Charge down Clearview into town. Since I have to slow to a crawl to cross the metal bridge (if you haven't heard that story we'll re-tell it over beer some night) so I didn't witness the end but heard that the Deac was holding the lead for most of the way down Clearview, with Eric and Tom giving chase, but in the end Tom beat him out for the win. Deac said, "That last straight-away was just a little too long!" We averaged just a little over 15 MPH, so there was some casual riding along with the play racing.

http://ridewithgps.co... or you could extend it just a bit to add a little more climbing and do the route Kelly was going to do last week: http://ridewithgps.co...

Posted a ride, wasn't a good winter so I am hoping that by the end of the summer I will be up to a B ride with you all. Thank you for the route that will work.

Hey all, I've decided on a route... 24.5 miles, 53 feet of climbing/mile (How'd I do that from Glen Rock???). I think you will like this one!!
