Pine Grove Furnace State Park
Steeped in natural and historical features, the 696-acre Pine Grove Furnace State Park is on beautiful South Mountain in southern Cumberland County. Surrounded by Michaux State Forest, Pine Grove Furnace features two lakes, 25-acre Laurel Lake and 1.7-acre Fuller Lake, a historic area and the Appalachian Trail.
Activites include: biking, hiking, swimming, boating, and fishing.
Cost is $10 per adult, children are free. The money pays for the camp site, and firewood (funds permitting). I will collect the money at the camp site. Please bring cash.
No pets permitted.
A pot luck dinner will be held Saturday night for those wishing to participate. Please bring a dish to share, camp chair, beverage, and plates / silverware.
FIREWOOD--Important! Please buy firewood there or nearby. There is a very dangerous insect that can be transported on firewood. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR FIREWOOD AT HOME, and buy it near the campground. I know it sucks, but the Emerald Ash Borer is a bad bug (exotic, invasive, and can eradicate tree species.)
