Here it is.. the summer event you've all been waiting for !
Come beat the summer heat !
As we look at the weather forecast rain and thunderstorms for Saturday
So... lets push to SUNDAY and make it a little later. MEET AT SIMPSON PARK AT 11:00
This will be a BYOL event (bring your own lunch) My son Nathan is off to the Air Force so I won't have him to help out with the cookout and I thought its too much for "just me" to do. Therefore I will bring a bag of charcoal so anyone that wants can grill something, and a cooler full drinks, you bring something for you and something to share and we all eat and be happy.
This meetup event consists of floating down the yellow breeches creek just south of Mechanicsburg Pa for about 2 hours getting off the water and having a picnic lunch then possibly continuing down the creek another 2 or 3 hours if the water level permits.
THOSE COMING FROM THE YORK AREA AND LOOKING FOR THE SIMPLEST ROUTE. Take 83 NOTRH TO 581 WEST TO 15 SOUTH TO 114 SOUTH Strait thru 2 traffic lights l.. and its a couple hundred Yards.. on the left
As in past years, We'll meet at Simpson park, ( off south Market St. Rt 114 Past red light in Bowmansdale on left side ) and carpool to the covered bridge at Messiah College If water levels permit its possible we will continue to Lower Allen park or somewhere closer as there are several takeout points b4 Lower Allen. We can take a vote the day of and see who wants to continue further after lunch.
I will bring soda and water, $5.00 gets you a Tube and cold drink at lunch time.
If you need a tube I have about 100 tubes. I ask for $5 to use a tube so I can pay for the pavilion rental and recover some of my other costs. After we have 15 sign up I can confirm the pavilion rental with the park.
I will have my air compressor there to blow up my tubes and YOUR tube or floating devices the morning of.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to bring along a lawn chair the pavilion holds about 65..we may need more room under popup canopys.
