York Rationalists monthly gathering

An evening for non-religious, non-spiritualist, non-magical and non-superstitious types to get together with like-minded people. As usual, we'll be in the Old Starre pub on Stonegate (but the aim isn't just drinking, honest!). We don't always manage to sit in the same place, but wherever we are, you'll be able to recognise us by the 7" wooden owl on the table.

OK it was probably my own fault but I kept searching for the group for ages not knowing that there was a hidden outside courtyard!

What would worry me is, did the owl turn up on it's own?

The first celebrity that I heard talking about disbelief was Jonathan Miller in "A history of Disbelief". He said many things that struck a chord with me, thinking "yes, that is what I believe!". In more recent times I have started watching religious debates on You Tube and discovered Christophe Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris and several more. Now I should also include religious speakers who play such an important part in making these speakers look intelligent, educated and rational.

Gents, I won't be able to get through from Scarborough tonight. I'm doubled booked for a Skype session. Catch you next month. Don't get het up by Evangelicals. It's really not worth a second thought. Enjoy tonight. Regards, Dave

    Have you seen this trailer??

Frankly I am worried. the Christian film makers have sussed out what atheists really think and exposed it for everyone to see. They really understand atheist mentality. How will atheism survive?

How intriguing - it currently ranks seventh in the faith-based movies of all time, apparently. Can't fault the logic, though: I only conclude things don't exist because I hate them. There's no longer any such thing as an egg mayonnaise sandwich, for example.
