The Ogwen valley in Snowdonia is one of Britain’s finest mountain areas. For sheer concentration of amenable classic routes in one small area it is probably unmatched by any other location in the country and it’s less than 3 hours away.
This will be a day trip only as all accommodation is fully booked due to it being a bank holiday. We'll keep an eye on the weather forecast and decide towards the end of the week whether to go on Saturday or Sunday.
We'll be looking to arrange car sharing for this one to cut down on petrol costs. This meet is not recommended for absolute beginners but if you've done a little bit of outdoor climbing and have got a head for heights you'll be OK. Your own shoes, harness, slings and carabiners would be handy, though we do have some spares between us, but do ask beforehand so we can bring them along. As usual there will be £3 subs or £1 for those who bring their own ropes and belay gear etc.
