Easy full day hike: Plains of six glaciers

  • Jul 14, 2013 · 9:00 AM
  • Crowfoot c-train station south (big) parking lot

Continuing on with stuff I can't be here for, enjoy a easy full day hike around lake louise, onto the tea house, then to the lookout. (This has directions as well as trail details)

Great trail for first time hiking! Flat, wide and smooth paths, please don't wander too far off trail and be mindful of vegetation and plant preservation, ie. don't step on living things. Starting at the standard Lake Louise parking lot, find directional signs on the right side of the lake, and follow the trail to the tea house, enjoy a nice break and snacks (must have cash for purchases), and continue on for 30 minutes to the lookout for spectacular views. I did it last month, it was in fantastic condition, and Parks Canada also says the trail is in great condition currently.
There are a few slower sections on the road as of last weekend, some 50 zones, but maybe a maximum of 10 minute travel delay, not bad at all.
This trail is VERY easy, but also extraordinarly high rewards, so it's definitely worth a (repeat) trip.
As always, please organize car pools on here, and BE CONSIDERATE of people that you are car-pooling with! Don't no-show and hold others up.

Gear recommendation:
Good shoes
1L water MINIMUM
Raincoat (we got rain, hail, sunshine, and snow all in the space of 4 hours last time)

Meet in large Crowfoot parking lot, facilitate carpooling further, and convoy there. Bring a parks pass if you have it.

if you need a carpool, you should comment as soon as possible to allow some extra time for people to offer.
