Crabbing + Beach BBQ

Hi everyone, The wife and I have already started going to the beach ever since the weather has gotten better. I had talked to some of you guys about doing a crabbing trip and thought we could combine it into a beach bbq as well at BARNET MARINE PARK

we have just rigged our fishing/SOT-kayak with a new fishing/crabbing gear and will be bringing that as well. Anyone else with a boat or kayak/canoe can bring one too.

I was thinking the saturday or sunday of the 24 or 25 May would work OR the following weekend.

Would anyone be interested in this little idea of mine?

Oh yeah for those couples that want to crab/fish you will need to get a "Salt water fishing licence" its $22.05 for the year and good till end March 2015. keep in mind that crab is now $20.99 a pound so if you catch 1 crab of legal size you have basically paid for the licence AND a cheap crab trap.

*** before you run off and buy crab traps and gear let me know if you plan on crabbing from the dock or from a boat and I can suggest the best/most cost effective gear so you don't waste $

Hey guys. The Sunday or the Saturday after (may 31) would actually work better for me... would that work for everyone else?

If its just us 4 couples then we can all share my bbq. I've put up a map of the park and where we meet plus parking/loading zones on my dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/73i0s... I will update the dropbox as we get organized. Looking forward to this weekend!

I'm SUPER EXCITED for this. Any of the days work for me actually.

Do you want us to bring food to barbecue? Or transportable bbqs?

We don't have a portable bbq. We can bring a cooler with drinks and ice, and some food to bbq...

Sounds fantastic! Blair and I are totally keen! We'd be available the Saturday or Sunday. You thinking a day trip?

Great to hear! Im planning this as a day trip as most people won't have a kayak or canoe, but there are some campsites only a few hours paddle up the inlet. I was planning on making an overnight trip when it got a little warmer.
