I just found out about The Factory Bouldering's promotional day this Sunday. If you just want to join us for lunch, that's cool too. This is going to be a laid back meetup. I was going to go anyway, and decided to invite anyone interested. I'm not going to sweat no shows at all, but if you want to find me/us, my phone number is listed here. It's on this page...but you're going to have to read all of it to find it. ;)
For those who've never done it before, it's essentially climbing, but sideways, as in you're never that far off the ground, and instead of negotiating your way up, you traverse sideways along the wall. Depending on where the holds (grips) are, this can be really challenging. It's like chess, on a wall, against yourself, and gravity. A great workout for your body and brain. I've only been to this location once, and that was by accident. Never climbed there before. I don't know if there will be any instruction that day, and so I, being the novice that I am, plan on geeking out on beginner how to boulder videos on YouTube the night before. It's gonna kind of be that kind of meetup, kids. We're gonna help each other figure it out. That's the disclaimer. And...of course since physical activity and heights are involved, I expect each person to be an adult and understand, by participating in this activity, you thereby assume all associated risk, and free this meetup group and all its members of any resulting liability. Okay? Okay.
If you don't already have climbing shoes, you can rent them there. You absolutely need them if you intend to climb. I believe it's $3. Because I'm needy and, because Craigslist has taught me to do this (and let's face it, I'm also really strange), here's my cell. three one zero.six five eight. one four one six.
Afterwards, grub at Anepalco's Cafe, a sort of fusion Mexican/French restaurant apparently so good, they had to move from their old hole in the wall place, to new swankier diggs. The last time I ate there was when Katie had a meetup there, after tennis. 5 stars on Yelp at the time.
