William Shakespeare's As You Like It.
The play is staged in the late 1960s with Mad Men suits and hippies galore. There will be singing and a live professional wrestling match.
Rosalind's father, the Duke, has been banished to the Forest of Arden and she has fallen in love with a young, honorable man named Orlando. When life gets too dangerous for her, she too runs away to the forest – but dressed as a man. By chance, her love Orlando also goes to the forest where he writes lavish – but bad – poetry to his love Rosalind. Can Rosalind – as a man – teach Orlando the true meaning of love and how to express himself?
Last year over 1300 people enjoyed the fun and free Shakespeare performance in this outdoor amphitheatre.
Bring a picnic and delight in this comedy with laughs and love!
I haven't been to this venue, so I would suggest arriving a little early to get parking and seats. The play starts at 4:30. Once the event begins, I will be turning off my cell phone, so please be there on time.
