Full Moon Night Hike into Black Star Canyon.

Full Moon Night Hike into past the site of a 1831 Native American massacre. What could possibly go wrong? But seriously this is a cool, relaxed hike that I have done at night a couple of times. I would not say the place it haunted but it gets you away from the back ground noise of the city and has an energy all it's own that makes this a really fun hike.

                                                                 Park on this side >

We start at Silverado Cafe, eat lite, wait for every one to meet up and move over to Black Star Canyon between 5:40 and 6:00pm. Then we move into the mountains between Orange county and Corona.

Just to be sure last night 10/1/13, I hiked Black Star Canyon (about 6 miles of it) alone and didn't have any problems. But of course that was not during a full moon.

                                    Stuff to Bring

Water.

Good shoes or boots. doesn't have to be hiking books but they help.

Warm, comfortable cloths. Preferably Jeans and for your top dress in layers.

Flash light.

If you want to bring a golf club or walking stick cool. But no hatchets, machetes or knives a cop wouldn't believe you use for fishing.

Dan thanks for organizing. Great hike. A different experience then daytime hiking. Especially enjoyed seeing the stars and hearing the werewolves howl at the moon :).

I really enjoyed the hike! Looking forward to the next meetup. BTW, I mentioned a few youtube channels: vsauce, vsauce2, ASAPscience, and the ones I forgot to mention earlier are buzzfeed and alltime10s. I don't know of any zombie-related channels, but I thought some of you might enjoy the content I do know about.

cathleen, I may have never studied the paranormal, but I did bring up the castle (Winchester?) built by a widow who included staircases to nowhere to confuse spirits (was this the one built endlessly until she died at the urging of a spiritual advisor of some sort?). Anyways, I know Mythbusters stayed there and Kari and Grant watched a horror movie during their visit for a Halloween special. Perhaps if both groups were interested we could have a meetup there someday? We don't have to sleep there - a tour is fine.
