Indoor rock climbing and lunch - again! Rock City, Anaheim

Let's hit the gym again and practice some climbing... Rock City has new routes up since the last time we visited, so there is plenty of new stuff to conquer!

Rock City is a great rock gym with friendly people and good routes, and so it's good place for beginners and advanced climbers alike.

Afterward we will fuel up with some lunch.  For those who are not members, your pass is good ALL DAY, so after lunch or later in the day you can head back if you dare.

See you there..

There's a middle-eastern market, Wholesome Choice, down the street at Imperial and La Palma, they have a food court with Persian, Indian and Chinese food and a bunch of other stuff. Prices are pretty good and it's a fun store.

Lauren - a pass for the day, including rental, is around 15 bucks. If you are feeling brave, you can return later in the day - its good until they close the day you buy the pass.

For lunch I like hit up a nearby Togos. We will remain flexible and open to suggestions, though, since there are a lot of places nearby - Knollwood, In-n-out, I think a Slaters 50/50?, lots of choices. So, Togos, but we'll make a final decision tomorrow.

You can schedule a classes for a number of things such as lead climbing but you don't need to take a class to climb. They give you a quick little lesson on how to safely belay using a gri-gri that is anchored to the floor. Its not like out door climbing where the climber is connected to the belayer. I can belay anyone who doesn't feel comfortable or needs support belaying.

    Is anyone going to belay?

I'm a first timer too; I was hoping I could just mimic someone that looked like they had a clue

I think last time we got a discount and paid $15 for everything including shoes. But the groupon would be the cheapest way to go.

the cost is 12 - 15 $ plus cost of harness and shoes, which are 5 $ altogether. I would try to do the groupon thing Cynthia mentioned

Group on has a buy one get one free coupon for Rock City so maybe people can split the cost.
