Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV
Let the wilder side of your inner nerd out and welcome 2012 in fabulous Las Vegas!
New Year's is on a weekend this year. This makes New Year's 2012 ideal for a weekend getaway. The plan is to leave for Vegas on Friday December 30th and return home Monday January 2nd.
There will be a variety of things to do in Las Vegas, especially during New Year's. People who celebrate New Year's in Vegas typically take to the streets. Las Vegas Blvd ("The Strip") is closed off to allow the masses to count down the new year together topped off with an impressive fireworks show presented by the various hotels/casinos along The Strip. Of course, if that doesn't tickle your fancy, there are countless New Year's Eve events throughout Vegas that you can choose to participate in instead.
The cost of the event will vary. The overall cost will mostly depend on where you stay and how you choose to entertain yourself in Las Vegas. For a three night stay during New Year's Eve weekend, hotels on the strip are charging upwards of $650 for a standard room with two queen beds. Sharing a room and/or shopping for a better rate is highly encouraged. If you want to share a room with fellow event participants, please make arrangements with those who have indicated that they intend to book a room (refer to the comments below).
If you are all ready going to be in Vegas around this time let us know and we can meet up while we're all there.
In essence, this is a New Year's Eve meetup. With that said, the typical Vegas clichés are not required to have a good time.
If you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to leave a comment or email the event host.
**To those who are booking a room:
Please indicate it along with your RSVP and how many spaces you have available
