For those of you that haven't heard of The Room, it's a cult film that gained notoriety over the past few years for how bad it is, but so bad it's good. It's been called the "Citizen Kane" of bad movies. So why should you spend a Saturday night watching a train wreck of a movie? Because it's so much fun to watch it with a theater full of rowdy people who appreciate how epically bad it is. In the vein of Rocky Horror, there is audience interaction with the film where certain scenes prompt certain rituals (read more in the article below).
Tickets are $16. This screening features an in-person appearance by the director of this masterpiece, Tommy Wiseau. The screening is in Westwood, so it'll be a longer trek for Eastsiders, but I promise it'll change your life. Ok, not really, but you can check participating in this L.A. institution off your bucket list. For those who are interested, we can meet up beforehand for a drink or two.
