Come to discuss The Rise of Enlightened Sexism: How Pop Culture Took Us from Girl Power to Girls Gone Wild (also called Enlightened Sexism: The Seductive Message that Feminism's Work is Done) by Susan J. Douglass. I checked on the Multnomah Library app and they have five copies, all available. They also have it on Amazon for $12 new, $5 used. I really don't want anyone to have to pay to be able to come though so I'm getting a copy, will read it over the week and anyone that wants to borrow it just email and ask.

My hopes for this meetup are to connect with other woman that are passionate about reading. I'd like to have a group where everyone feels comfortable sharing and no one feels isolated.

Tea and cookies and a slighly messy home that I share with my boyfriend. Any questions, concerns, general words of wisdom on how to do this, don't hesitate to send me an email.

I enjoyed chatting with the ladies about Enlightened Sexism (and how, despite our best efforts, it was not our favorite). I'm looking forward to the next book club meeting. Thanks for a great evening ladies!

Although we didn't enjoy Enlightened Sexism, we had a great time discussing the book and getting to know each other! Thanks ladies! Can't wait for the next one!

So I was going to read the book over the weekend, but last week I went on vacation and left it at the rental house :( I'd still like to come and discuss the topic though, if that's okay with everyone.

I am not sure how far I will get with this book before the meeting, but I would still love to come discuss the book with you! Excited to meet everyone!

I just requested the book from the library, but don't think I'll be able to finish it before the next meeting, as I just joined the group today. Is that alright?
