This is a group for writers between the ages of 18-25 living in NYC. We will meet on a weekly basis to talk about the writing process, projects we're working on, and do some workshopping. Below are the kinds of meetups we plan on having.

Discussion Groups:

Each of these meetups will focus on a specific writing topic of discussion (dialogue, scene, exposition, characterization, pacing, etc.). While this group will tend to concentrate on fiction writing, I encourage poets, songwriters, playwrights, and other kinds of writers to suggest meetup events that target their interests.

Workshop Sessions:

As mentioned above, we will have some meetups that focus on workshopping. In order for these events to work, we need to be able to read one another's writing before the meetup. Otherwise, we'll end up spending more time trying to read everyone's pieces than actually having a constructive discussion.

Your writing must be submitted by sending it to me in an email, which will be provided in the description of each workshop event.

There will be a deadline prior to the meetup (usually two or three days before). If you RSVP and fail to send me your story/poem on time, I will remove you from the attendee list.

I will then send out all the works handed to me on time to those who are still attending the workshop.

Socials:

Occasionally we will have fun meetups with the purpose of simply getting to know one another. We'll hold our own readings, go to author signings and other literary events, etc.
