Dr. Shane D. Stephens-Romero is a Senior Scientist and Manager of Program Development at the National Fuel Cell Research Center at UC Irvine. His work involves coordination with government, industrial partners, and academic institutions around the development, demonstration, and deployment of fuel cell systems. He has also served as a White House Intern, is the recipient of a fellowship from the Newkirk Center for Science and Society, and of a Public Impact fellowship from UC Irvine.
Dr. Pere Margalef is the Manager of Business Development for the Western Region of the U.S. for FuelCell Energy, a manufacturer of stationary fuel cell systems for distributed energy applications. In this role, Pere interfaces with technical, economic, and legislative aspects of the distributed energy sector. He is currently leading the development of several multi-MW fuel cell projects in California, which are on the verge of transforming the Combined Heat and Power paradigm.
Mr. Peter Gross leads the Mission Critical Systems group at Bloom Energy, a leading manufacturer of solid oxide fuel cells. Peter is recognized as a thought leader in the mission-critical information and infrastructure design realm, has published numerous technical papers in the field, and is a frequent speaker at international events. Peter has more than 25 years’ experience in the engineering and design of power systems, focusing on mission-critical facilities, high-reliability design, energy, and sustainability.
Mr. Keith Malone works for the California Fuel Cell Partnership, helping launch zero-emission, hydrogen-powered vehicles. Keith brings 25 years of public relations and public affairs experience to the public-private partnership. He helped write and edit CaFCP’s two strategic deployment plans. In addition to communications, he leads education and outreach efforts to state legislators and staff, and represents CaFCP with the press and at events.
Hyundai Motor Company is leading the way in the mass production of hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles. Since 1998, Hyundai has been developing its hydrogen fuel cell technology, making great strides in driving down costs and increasing efficiency.
