Yim Tin Tsai is a small offshore island in Sai Kung area which was settled by the Chan's family 300 years ago. "Yim Tin "means salt-pan. In earlier days villagers of the island lived on farming and salt-making.Because of the adverse rural life in recent decades, all villagers have migrated to urban areas and overseas countries for their livings.
The gathering: Hiking, making local dessert puddings on island and BBQ at Sai Kung Centre.
Gathering Time: 11:30 at the boat fountain outside Sai Kung Public Washroom, next to the Bus Terminus
Trip: We will take 15 mins boat to the island, attend the cooking course (The local dessert made of Chinese Fevervine Herb) and enjoy your dessert under sunset after hiking. We can also go to visit the St. Joseph Chapel (established since 1890) on the island. Then we will go back to Sai Kung Centre for BBQ dinner.
There will be a small grocery store for snacks and drinks on the island.
The Trail: about 3.5km (Easy), Good view for photo shooting. Please remember to bring your camera!
