Thank God for having members that rolled with the punches and we all pulled together to come up with a plan b when the show we were there to see got sold out. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT! :-) Yes, even the best plans and preparation doesn't mean that things will be perfect. But we did our best with what we had and that was cool. As a result, we still had a great time together and still saw the movie. As a few of you said to me, "You are very organized and plan a lot. But you can't always plan for everything." True. I really appreciate that! It did mean a lot to me.

Fyi-- I'm gonna try to get to the movie at 11. I'll have to call Bahama Breeze as soon as the movie is over (while the credits are rolling) to do the call ahead seating for us. That way, I can give the manager the most current headcount and cal 1/2 an hour before we get there, as he recommended. So, please update me if your plans change. After 11am, calling or texting will be the best ways to contact me. Unless you're just leaving a comment on this Wall that do not need a response. I'd really appreciate it! :-)

I just talked to one of the managers of Bahama Breeze. They still can't take reservations, even for a group of this size. But the best he can do is for me is to call him 1/2 an hour or more before we plan to get there for call ahead seating. Although historically, as he put it, we'd be getting their just when their lunch rush ends, he still urged me to call ahead. Their largest table only accommodates a max of 12 people so they can put 2 tables together and the rest "would have to sit at a booth that is near those tables." Also, there will an 18% tip automatically added to every check (their policy is to do that for parties of 8 or more).
I'm trying my best for us all! :-)
By the way, :-) I'll be wearing a purple top and blue jeans, in case that helps you find me at the movie theatre.
If any of this causes changes in your plans to come to lunch, please let me know, so I can plan accordingly and I can make appropriate arrangements with the manager.
See ya there!

Whoa! I am still pleasantly surprised by how many people are interested in such an early meetup, especially just to catch a movie. By the way, I just realized that Bahama Breeze does not take reservations (I asked when I had meetups here before). But they do call ahead seating. It supposedly reduces waiting time by half an hour. I will call Friday night for the call ahead seating. With such a large group coming, I want to do what I can! :-) They don't even have tables that seat more than 10 people so I'd want them to be prepared.

Great idea Janet. Also we should probably try to buy tix online. This way we know we have a seat.

Hey, everyone! First of all, so glad that so many are game for a lunchtime meetup! I doubted having a meeting this early so it feels good that I scheduled it anyway and my doubts were fruitless. Second, I just checked the showtimes for Iron Man 3 for this day and there are only 3 showtimes ALL day: 11:45 AM, 6:15PM and 9:30PM. I just wonder if they are going to add more by Tuesday. If not, I was THINKing we can see the movie first (thereby having us meet at 11:30am) and then have lunch afterward. So, this would change the current meetup time just slightly. Also, keep in mind, this means paying $6.50 to see a movie instead of $10.50. ;-) P.S- This is the first meetup where I noticed that profile intros are used for the RSVP comment. That's cool.
