How should we cover the Meetup.com fee?

So, meetup.com charges a fee to host a group on the site. It isn't that much (100- 200 a year depending on how often you pay) but it isn't something anyone should be paying solely, as this is a group benefiting all members. So, there are several ways we can go about solving the problem. 1) Everyone pays a membership due (1 or 2 bucks a year) to keep the site on meetup.com. Pro- it stays like it is, Con- it costs money or 2) We close the group on meetup.com and create a facebook group. Meetups would still be created by the organizers but you would just look there to find out when/where things are happening. Pro- free, con- makes it more difficult to find our group for new people not already members. Please vote ASAP!
