Join me for dinner at the Columbia Cafe on the Riverwalk

I haven't been here before but let's go check it out!  The Columbia Cafe is on the picturesque waterfront at the Tampa Bay History Center next to the Forum.  They serve some of the favorite specialties of the main Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City and they have live entertainment.

Check out the website for the menu, directions and parking.  I noticed that we can park in the Forum parking lot and that fee is covered if you also purchase a ticket to the history center.  Other parking options are listed and you can even come by boat if you wish.  They have docking and nominal docking fees.

I never knew there was a Columbia across from the forum. Great food and great company. Thanks, Sharon, for hosting this.

Good food and nice people to hang out with on a Saturday night....very pleasant. And I enjoyed being down on the River Walk for the first time and seeing what that's all about. And although we had two no-shows, we had two drop-ins to take their places so it worked out after all. (Kathy D -- ignore my "good to see you" message. I know that you weren't there - just got butterfingers when I was clicking buttons.)

Also, the parking garage across the street from Channelside and Hooters is easy to use. The restaurant may even valid parking. Otherwise it is easy to park there and usually $5-$10 without a validation.

I heard parking is impossible and I should take the trolley. Suggestions?

A walk through with movies and maps one hour. Taking more time ,with same, two hours. Interest will dictate.

The History museum has maps of Florida through the 16th. These are from a personal collection. Also it showcases Tampa and the early period. Two great Films for Florida history buffs. A cow round up is educational.

Have you been, Rick? If so, about how much time should people plan for?
